GLAMOROUS beauties from around Victoria put their best stiletto forward in July in hope of being a finalist for the Miss World Australia State Finals.
As something a little different for HTA, we were selected to be the official auditor for the event after being an auditor for one of the semi-finals a few months prior.
HTA’s Julie Cameron, sat alongside 4 judges; National Director for Miss World Australia Deborah Miller, MasterChef’s Emelia Jackson, X-Factor’s Dan Hamill & Herald Sun Reporter Jackie Epstein and from what she’s told us all of the finalists had definitely earnt their place, she was relieved to not have the tough job of being a judge.
Miss World is all about ‘Beauty with a Purpose’. Each of the 17 finalists competed in 3 categories – Personality, Evening Wear & the beloved Q&A – for a score out of 10. HTA’s role was to tally the scores given by each judge & advise who were the top 5 competitors that would be going through to the National Finals in a few weeks’ time.

To give you an idea of the quality of the girls competing – One of the top 5 Victorian entrants was Esma Voloder (second from right), who is no stranger to beauty pageants, having previously won the Miss Teen Australia competition in 2008. She’s completed a Bachelor of Social Sciences majoring in Psychology and completed a year of criminal profiling & assessments. In addition to modelling, she also acts, dances, and is an official ambassador for the Bully Zero Australia Foundation.
It was a great experience for Julie and just an example of how we go outside the box at HTA Advisory.
